"Another Approach to Relationships: Arabic Parts in Synastry" |
Arabic Parts are three-point formulas which have been used in Western Classical Astrology at least since the time of the ancient Greeks -- in spite of the "Arabic" in their name! In this lecture, Jim presents the brief list of 15 Parts which he himself relies on, almost all of which have to do with relationships. These include the Part of Fascination, Part of Love, Part of Desire and Sexual Attraction, New Part of Attraction, Part of False Love, Part of Private Enemies, and more. The charts of two famous couples are used as examples of how the Arabic Parts have worked out in synastry in real life. Charts and synastry pages included.
Saturday Workshop May 22, 2010, 1:00 - 4:30 PM
"Multiple Simultaneous Transits and Progressions"
Jim will present examples of important events in people's lives, using several different predictive techniques to analyze in retrospect what was going on. The general rule is that at least three bodies (progressed or transiting) need to be triggering the same natal formation at the same time in order to produce an unusual event. Secondary progressions provide part of the slow-moving framework within which events arise - and so do the transits of the outer planets. Tertiary and minor progressions, and the transits of the faster planets, focus the influences and show the timing of specific events, as do the mean quotidian cusps in secondary progressions. One can add precession-corrected Solar and Lunar Returns, and fractional returns (quarters), to get an additional perspective. All of this is the tool kit which Jim uses for his consultations, and which he teaches in his Predictive Astrology Courses.
