"The Real Astrology" - Symposium in conjunction with NorthStar College

FRIDAY NIGHT Lecture - "An Introduction to The Real Astrology" - At the Scottsdale Senior Center. 

John will cover basic concepts related to the cosmology, such as the nature of light (which is how astrology works), the traditional model of the universe, and the importance of the image of the water cycle.

SATURDAY Workshop - "
Assessment of Temperament."  This is the vital first step in natal judgment. - Held at NorthStar College.

SUNDAY'S Workshop will expand these concepts and show their practical significance.  

ASA members can attend all sessions for a total cost of $86.  This includes the $14 for Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, and $24 each for Saturday morning, Sunday morning, and Sunday afternoon.

Total cost to non-members for all sessions will be $166:  $10 Friday, $15 Saturday afternoon, and $47 each for Saturday morning, Sunday morning, and Sunday afternoon.

The Real Astrology
A look at astrology 2000 years ago. Spica Award Winner, John Frawley, from London, lectures on the methods and practice of the great astrologers of the western tradition, such as William Lilly and Abu Ali Al-Khayyat. 

John will provide a critique of modern astrology, and a detailed introduction to all the main branches of the traditional craft. Sweeping away the mis-conceptions of both modern astrologers and skeptics, he will explain how and why traditional astrology works. Subjects to be presented include the nature of light; antiscia; Arabian Parts; using mutual reception to make changes in the life; William Lilly; the perception of time; the role of the Lord of the Geniture in spiritual aspiration; receptions; why it goes wrong; the seasons; medical charts; the assessment of temperament; solar and lunar calendars; the true nature of the malefics; and more.

Anyone who heard John's program last year knows that he is a fascinating speaker with an intriguing approach to astrology.

Friday lecture: Scottsdale Senior Center, 7- 9:30 pm. $4 admission for members, $10 for nonmembers. The Saturday workshop will NOT be held at the Senior Center.

Saturday and Sunday workshops will be held at NorthStar College. The total lecture time for the weekend workshops is 10 hours. Total cost to ASA members (Friday lecture included): $86.

Getting to Know John Frawley 

John Frawley is a teacher and practitioner of traditional astrology,  with clients and students in six continents.  He is author of The Real Astrology, editor of The Astrologer's Apprentice, and tutor of the Apprenticeships in Horary, Electional and Traditional Natal Astrology. He regularly demonstrates the remarkable accuracy of these methods with televised football predictions - forecasting not only the results, but even the correct score of top-flight matches.
