Our May 30 event features humanistic astrologer Lars Panero speaking on Rudhyar’s final book The Astrology of Transformation. We’ll look at the chart wheel as a living mandala showing us the how, when, and why of the four levels of human functioning. Lars describes the talk:
The Four Levels of Astrological Interpretation in Transpersonal Astrology
According to Rudhyar’s system of psychology, human beings potentially function at four different levels: biological, sociocultural, individual, and transpersonal. Therefore it becomes possible to interpret a birth chart at these four levels as well, with special attention given to the way the planetary significations change.
This is a very subtle dimension of astrological practice, often overlooked because it does not yield itself over to cookbook style delineations or to simple techniques capable of giving concrete and easily digestible results. Instead it emphasizes the mysterious side of practicing astrology, of being receptive and open to what the chart, considered as a mandala, has to tell us.
Lars Panaro brings together his MA in Philosophy, Astrology & Tarot, and Logic-Based Therapy. He studied with Susan Allen at California Institute of the Arts while pursuing a BFA in Guitar Performance, where Allen introduced him to Rudhyar’s work, which he’s studied for 15 years. His background integrates traditional and modern astrological approaches with philosophical traditions including Blavatsky, Sri Aurobindo, Jung, Assagioli, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Buber, the Baha’i Faith and more. Our June 27 event features our friend and always great speaker Elizabeth Hazel talking about
“A Matter of Judgment: the 9th House and Decision Making.” We’ll explore 9th house significations and its process-driven qualities, how it offers a breakdown of the steps in the decision-making process, and what the astrologer should look for in a chart before and during a consultation about a big decision. She’ll offer tips on guiding clients toward assessing situations and making the best possible decision. There will be sample cases demonstrating transits for people who made world-changing decisions.
Our July 25 event features internationally respected Vedic astrologer Richard Fidler speaking on “What Western and Vedic Astrology Can Learn From Each Other.”
Our August 22 event will be our free Summer presentation. So far we have several topics up for discussion, including a more extensive analysis of Jupiter in Leo and the 2027 Mars retrograde in Virgo and Leo.
Our September 26 event features legendary astrologer Richard Nolle who will lead us in an exploration of“The Third Luminary – how recognizing the primal Three Luminaries changes everything.”
Our October 24 event brings the return of spiritual Astrologer Eric Meyers. I’ll let you know the topic when he gives it to me.
November 21 features Lalia Wilson giving a talk on Four Pillars Chinese Astrology known as BaZi. There’s more to Chinese Astrology than most internet sites offer, and this approach includes the 12 animals and 5 elements, creating the cycles of 60 years, months, days, and hours, with each having their representation within “the four pillars,” where each pillar is a combination of an element and animal.
December 19 is our annual free Winter Solstice gathering. As we do each year, we’ll see what the Winter Solstice chart tells us about 2027.

A Look at Some of Our Recent Presentations
Our October 25 talk featured Eric Meyers speaking on “The Astrological Biorhythm: The Progressed Moon by Declination.” It was a fascinating look at how the declination of the Progressed Moon takes us through times of ascent and descent over a 28 year period, with “seasons” where we hit peaks and valleys every 14 years as the Progressed Moon moves through the Solstice signs.
Our November 29 talk featured yours truly, Professor Robert, speaking on “the Spiritual dimension of Astrology – Navigating the Changes in the Collective Field.” We discussed the "seasons" of the “century cycle,” the emergence of “Divine Mother energy,” and astrological markers when global transformations can be expected. We explored the major changes we’re all going through in 2025-2027, and how to use the intensity of the collective field to fulfill our purpose.
Our December 20 gathering was our yearly free Solstice Presentation. Robert took us through a thorough analysis of the Solstice chart and the themes for the next 90 days, as well as “time triggers” for when we can expect shift and changes. Doc Benton added his take, and gave us a preview of the March Equinox chart as well.
Our January 24 event covered our yearly Predictions for 2026 featuring forecasts, big, small, and absurd, from astrologers and other forecasters all over the world. This one was one of the best yet, with predictions ranging from doom and gloom to the death of leaders to Taylor Swift’s marriage being good for the global economy! A very good time was had by all!
Our February 28 presentation featured a discussion of two topics led by Professors Doc Benton and Robert. The first presentation was about which one of EIGHT possible Solar return outer planet combinations we had in 2025, and which of four possible combinations we’ll have in 2026. After that Doc gave us a wide-ranging discussion on "Saturn Conjunct Neptune – The Morning After," where we looked at events leading up to and happening at the time of the conjunction, and what we can expect in the months ahead.
Our March 21 presentation featured Ray Grasse in a multi-topic discussion of “Hard Angles, Elevated Planets, and How Past Transits Link to Current Conditions.” We discussed how hard angles can be used productively, how various planets manifest when on the angles, and how past transits teach us about future ones. Lots of examples and interaction.
Our April 25 event featured Professor Robert leading an exploration of several topics, including recent Solar eclipses and the powerful “Eclipse Yod” created by the 2023 Solar eclipse at 30 Aries, the 2025 Solar eclipse at 30 Virgo, and the 2026 Solar eclipse at 29 Aquarius. We also discussed what to expect with Jupiter in Leo, had a deep exploration of Venus retrograde and its coming Oct/Nov retrograde, and took a brief look at the coming Mars retrograde.

This is the era of Zoom. We do all our presentations online. If you would like to attend, please make sure you’ve downloaded the latest Zoom update so you don’t get delayed trying to get into the talks. You can download the latest software on their site. They release new versions often, so upgrade in advance. Details are provided in our two AAZ alerts in the two weeks prior to the presentation.
To anticipate a question, you don’t have to have a camera or microphone to attend a ZOOM webinar. All you need is internet access and speakers. AN ASTROLOGICAL OVERVIEW
AN ASTROLOGICAL OVERVIEW OF May 2026

May begins with the Full Moon on May 1 at 12 Taurus/Scorpio. So this month continues the pattern of the Full Moon dominating the first half of the month, and the New Moon at 26 Taurus dominating the second half of the month. Remember too that the Full Moon fulfills the previous New Moon at 28 Aries, so the first half of the month has a strong Aries quality, while the Taurus New Moon launches an emergent friction against authority via the semisquare to Saturn.
Jupiter is now accelerating in its third pass through 20-25 Cancer, helping us expand into a new social and emotional realm. This will help us celebrate, fulfill some ambitions, examine our expediencies, with the month ending with a need to accept the grace, power, or blessing “to become leaders.”
Beginning late April through the first half of the month, the Sun and Mercury make quintiles and sextiles to Jupiter before moving into “fateful” septiles the third week of May. Of extraordinary importance is that Saturn is septile Uranus for the entire period of May through September, and during the second half of the month, Jupiter is biseptile Saturn and septile Uranus.
This sets up major “forks in the road of destiny” involving the social/cultural planets joined to the Spiritual Revolution! Zones most affected include 9-13 Aries, 30 Taurus-4 Gemini, 22-26 Cancer, 13-17 Virgo, 4-8 Scorpio, 26-30 Sagittarius, and 18-22 Aquarius. If you have a planet or Ascendant in one or more of these zones, your life is about to take some dramatic turns over the next few weeks. As with all septile aspects, I am reminded of the great Yogi Berra statement, “If you get to a fork in the road, take it!”
Because of everything I just told you, we are all on our way to a new life. Abundance is promised for those who begin new projects, new life directions, new pioneer efforts, and self-reliant self-sufficiency in 2026. This is a new time, a new way, and a new day, with major acceleration in May lasting through the June Solstice to achieve liftoff when Jupiter makes its opposition, sextile, and trine to Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto from Leo in July.
The Spiritual Field
We continue to be blessed by the closest Neptune sextile with Pluto in 30 years as each occupies their signs for many years to come. This is an extraordinarily productive relationship, and now that Uranus is in Gemini, Neptune in Aries, and Pluto in Aquarius, it echoes and mirrors the early 1940s when we had Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Libra, and Pluto in Leo. The revolution has begun!
We’re now solidly in the new Saturn/Neptune in Aries era, ending what began in Capricorn in 1989. This initiates a powerful proactive energy in the collective spiritual field which lasts through 2061. These conjunctions mark global shifts in “atmosphere,” what’s “in fashion,” and the general mindset for decades to come.
As the last one was in Capricorn, and this one was at 1 Aries, you can bet there will be agitation in the air to “get things done” and little patience for excuses, bureaucracy, and stonewalling. It will be as though many are walking out of the ocean onto dry land for the first time in their lives, since this is a major restructuring of collective consciousness in the sign of pioneering direct action!
Uranus occupied the first two degrees of Gemini from July to October 2025, promising new discoveries and the arrival of “Santa Claus” beginning late April 2026. This year we’re rejuvenating as the next step of the 14 year cycle which began in April 2024 at the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction promising us all a new life.
Neptune in Aries is spreading a new energy which will “be in fashion” in collective consciousness for decades to come. It went stationary retrograde on the “avatar” degree at 3 Aries. That degree promises us new “avatars,” new world leaders, and new icons of an Aries nature through this century and beyond, especially now that Saturn has conjuncted Neptune and set their new cycle into motion.
This month Neptune moves through 4 and 5 Aries, taking collective consciousness into zones it hasn’t experienced since 1862-1863. We’re finally in a new spiritual field of Fire and Air after many years of immersion in Earth and Water. We’ve gone from slogging through the bog to sailing in a hot air balloon!
Pluto in Aquarius puts us on the cusp of historic change. This month it occupies 6 Aquarius, compelling us to be “a solitary officiator over a mystery ritual.” If you feel like the pressure is increasing, be efficient and economical in tending the seeds of future growth, both emotionally and socially.
We also have several long wave Aries cycles in play. Jupiter launched a major healing and mentoring cycle when it conjuncted Chiron at 15 Aries on March 11, 2023. That long wave Chiron cycle will last until the Summer of 2036. Over the next few weeks we’ll have new Chiron cycles initiated as the planets make their conjunctions.
Not all Chiron cycles are the same length. When Chiron transits between Aquarius and Gemini, it moves relatively slowly and has conjunctions with Jupiter about every 13 years. However, it can take 19-20 years for the next conjunction after Gemini or Cancer. That means once the conjunction at 16 Gemini happens in the Summer of 2036 we won’t have another conjunction of Jupiter and Chiron until the Spring of 2056 in Aquarius, which will launch another long term “expansive healing/mentoring” cycle.
Mars
Mars continues to pick up speed since it went direct at 18 Cancer in late February 2025. This month begins with Mars in mid-Aries on its way to Taurus. Keep taking the initiative, opening to unique circumstances and gifts which are perfect to secure your initiatives.
This month Mars activates the house(s) where we have 18 Aries through 10 Taurus. May 1-5 puts Mars between 18 and 20 Aries, creating an agitating effect on planets we have at 18-20 Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. May 5-18 finds Mars between 21-30 Aries, creating agitation on planets we have in the last decan of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. May 18-31 puts Mars between 1-10 Taurus, creating an agitating effect on planets we have in the first decans of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.
As I’ve offered before, when Mars is within a degree of forming or separating from a hard aspect with a planet, slow down and show deliberation and caution in how you use force. Hard aspects to/from Mars always require that we moderate or antidote impulsiveness and impatience.
We’re Actors On A New Stage With A New Set – The Bigger Picture
We’re still in the initial years of a new era in human evolution. The Grand Mutation of Jupiter conjunct Saturn at 1 Aquarius began a new 20 year Aquarian Era in December 2020, as well as a new 200 year era, moving global energies out of Earth and into Air. We’ve begun to grow beyond the materialism of the past 200 years and have entered two centuries of Air emphasis, with its qualities of relatedness, receptivity, versatility, movability, lightness, and cooperative ideas, visions, and ideals.
We’re still "under the beams" of the Solar Eclipses of 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, and these “cosmic recyclers” continue to remove what we no longer need in our lives. Take note of where you have 29 Aquarius, 1 Cancer, 24 Sagittarius, 10, 20 and 30 Aries, 11 Taurus, 30 Virgo, 11 and 22 Libra, and 2 Scorpio, since we’ve all had to let go of many things related to these sectors the past few years.
The two most recent Solar eclipses are recycling our lives where we have 30 Virgo and 29 Aquarius. The Virgo eclipse is about all of us “escaping from a narrow destiny” over coming months and years. The eclipse at 29 Aquarius shows the next few years will prove very disruptive of the status quo everywhere. That eclipse encourages us to stop making excuses for non-action and actively pursue our heart’s desire. Coupled with the 30 Aries eclipse, we are now under the beams of a “Solar Eclipse Yod” with the nozzle being the 30 Virgo eclipse.
We’re still seeing eclipse effects from the recent Lunar eclipse at 13 Virgo/Pisces, which is also removing life materials from those houses in our chart. Much that is taken away in coming months will be so we can express the Light of Spiritual Will through a “charisma” which can “calm crowds.”
As we study how successive Eclipses have affected various areas of our charts and lives, we can get a sense of the utility of these “Cosmic Recyclers” in removing what we no longer needed in those areas, creating a void which attracted new life experiences. They invite us to look back, and then forward, to see the continuity of “letting go, taking in, letting go, taking in” across the years.
Primary Action Beats for the First Half of the Month
As mentioned, May begins under the beams of the Full Moon at 12 Taurus/Scorpio, showing the “Buddha Wisdom of Compassion” will bring the Light of “whole-souled participation in life” into focus through a higher, more “ambassadorial” way of interacting which “certifies our social rank.” This Lunation will bring great Wisdom in the middle degrees of our Fixed sign sectors, and with a septile driven “Kite” of Venus in Gemini septile Mars in Aries and both triseptile the Moon as the nozzle, expect a lot of pressure to grow in your social skills.
The first week of the month shows productive growth from Venus sextile Saturn and new “healing and mentoring ideas” as Mercury conjuncts Chiron right before it enters Taurus and begins to quintile Jupiter. The first week also shows Mars square Jupiter and Mercury square Pluto on its retrograde station.
Curb extravagance, but if you have to do something, do it with flair and style! With Mercury square Pluto, avoid extremists, dishonest arguments, and try to see the positive potentials despite the limiting conditions or undermining arguments.
Both of these squares bring a pressure to act; Mercury/Pluto affects 4-8 degrees of the Fixed signs, while Mars/Jupiter affects 18-22 degrees of the Cardinal signs. With the Mercury square, show good Leo and Scorpio traits; with the Mars square, show good Libra and Capricorn traits.
The second week is dominated by Sun and then Mercury sextile Jupiter as they approach their Superior conjunction on May 14. This should be a VERY productive week and harmonizes with planets we have around 19-23 Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces. All in all, with so many favorable aspects, it’s full speed ahead during a very productive and harmonious week where we can get a lot done!
Primary Action Beats for the Second Half of the Month
The third week begins with the Old Moon which lasts through the New Moon at 26 Taurus on May 16th, so make progress as you prepare for a month of seeing your “heart’s desire made manifest on the balcony of your life and mind.” That will begin the launch of many new developments, especially as it features Mars conjunct Chiron, launching a new two year cycle of healing and mentoring around the themes of 29 Aries, “a celestial choir singing,” indicating we’re all going to find our place in that cosmic collection of voices.
That week’s major events include Mercury entering Gemini, Venus sextile Chiron and conjunct Uranus, Mars entering Taurus, Venus entering Cancer, Mercury sextile Neptune and trine Pluto, Venus sextile Mars and square Neptune, and the Sun entering Gemini. This begins the rapid growth of new developments in our Taurus, Gemini, and Cancer houses, and completes the first stage set into motion with the various ingresses of the planets into Aries since February at the Saturn/Neptune conjunction.
The last 10 days bring Venus square Neptune, Sun conjunct Uranus, Mercury sextile Saturn, Venus quincunx Pluto, Sun sextile Neptune, Mars square Pluto, Sun trine Pluto, Venus square Saturn, finishing with the Full Moon on May 31 with Mercury sextile Chiron just before it enters Cancer on June 1.
Overall, while there are crosscurrents from the Venus and Mars squares, the Sun helps to strengthen Neptune and Pluto, showing how the squares become favorable ways to release the energies of the spiritual field planets. Try to relax the week before and after the Sun conjunct Uranus, and take care during the last 10 days of May when Mars square Pluto is in effect. Be a good bridge builder, and admire differences in approaches and values rather than get into heated confrontations. And slow down!
Evolutionary Development
As we’re still in the North Node in Pisces era, we grow through empathy and compassion, demonstrated through our sense of service. We will grow in our “nonlocal awareness” and have to stand on what we believe while “showing what we know” wherever we have 7 Virgo, putting the down time to good use.
The Sun in Taurus is a time to see the Light of “future oriented enjoyable action” on material, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels of life. The idealistic vision of Aquarius, deepened by Pisces’ connection to the collective feeling field and brought forth in new actions in Aries now is able to be grounded and enjoyed. This month we can move into a groove of liking how things are unfolding on the material plane, and stabilize that which was set into motion in Aries.
We are now on the front end of a new 35 year Aries era, so we will be letting go of the Pisces patterns we adopted during the Neptune in Pisces era. We’ve learned a lot about empathy and allowing things to end by blessing the passages.
Because we’re ending the sixth year of a new 20 year and 200 year cycle, remember a new era has dawned. Have courage and take the initiative to leave the Earth and fly free as the Grand Mutation expands its promise into the Divine transfigured ideal of a more just truth and future. While the old dies, the new has arrived!
Even though the ideal is far away, we are the midwives and mid-husbands to a new way of relating to Life, Energy, Consciousness, each other, and the Earth Herself. Because our essential nature is Loving Wisdom, remember to lighten up, play a little, and be willing to explore new arenas of effective activity where you can work and play with other Light Spirits. This is the time to take heart as we navigate the dawning of the Pluto in Aquarius era.
We are now collectively transfiguring into a greater vision of the one Light/Life we all are together. Continue to find your heart strength and new forms of genuine happiness appropriate for who you are now, and who you are becoming relative to just a few months ago.
We now have launched into a newer, more active long term era. Having made the transition between past and future, we’re now on a trek into a new world of new potential, new adventures, and new ways to enjoy being ourselves while doing our work of Destiny. Open to the new potential ahead of you, since we are all on a rocket ship to the stars!
